Jewel Evans

Interview by Eric of Find and Bind All the Pretty Girls

Jewel Evans tied by Ikaras Jones; photo provided by BondageJones.comHow were you first introduced to fetish modeling?

It all started about 5 or 6 years ago. A friend of mine introduced me to Viking and Rachel in a BDSM chat room. After sharing my pictures with them, they asked me if I would be interested in modeling on the Internet. Being the happy go lucky try anything once type of person I am, I jumped at the opportunity. Things have evolved from there.

How many fetish websites and videos have you appeared in so far?

Wow, let me think here and I’m sorry if I accidentally leave some one out. There has been Bindher.com, Bondagecafe.com, Tiedgirls.com, Eroticknots.com, Shortfuse.com, enslaved.com, tylerscot.com, dita.net, bondagedivsas.com, hogtied.com, whippedass.com, agentsofbound.com, ashleyrenee.com, dan-hawke.com, defiantguy.com, nybound.com, Philcarson.com, restrainedelegance.com, sadiebelle.com, surrenderedsoul.com, houseofslavery.com, insex.com. I also did some magazine work for Lyndon Dist. And a video with Extreme Associates titled: Domina’s Daydream. You can also find a bunch of other videos I’m in at Bindher.com

When you receive a modeling assignment from a fetish company, what about their operation or policies make you consider working with them?

I’m pretty picky about who I work for these days. I try to work with photographers that can take good pictures. But I also have to like their content (i.e.: what they have on their websites). I also ask other models who have worked with these photographers what they are like. I talk to the photographers via email or phone and see if we click.

What types of storylines for a photo set/series do you prefer to work on. For example, love bondage, damsel in distress, or other type of storyline?

I’m a big fan of DID modeling. Once I get the ropes on it all just comes naturally. I once did a shoot where the photographer had to keep telling me to stop wrinkling my forehead. I sat there for a second thinking “how do I do that when I am a damsel in distress”. That was one of my more difficult shoots because I had to concentrate so hard on not wrinkling my forehead. I do enjoy Love bondage as well; pretty much bondage in general is a thumbs up to me.

Is there a photographer or video director you hope to one day work with on a project?

I would like to work with Ken Marcus one day. He takes such beautiful pictures. Also James of nawashibari.com. He does some excellent Japanese style bondage. Oh and maybe Midori, I just have to get up the nerve to ask her * G *

Not to put you on the spot, but who in you're opinion has been the most professional company you worked with?

Can I get away with saying myself here? Hehe Tiedgirls.com tries to be as professional as possible. Taking the models’ needs into account at all times is very important. Same theory goes with Eroticknots.com and Bondagecafe.com.

Of the many bondage positions you been placed in, which is your favorite and which is the least favorite?

Hrm… I think I would have to say it’s a tie (no pun intended) between a spread-eagle and a ball tie as my favorites. I like the feeling of being completely stretched out and out of control in the spread-eagle yet I love the tight little ball the ball tie leaves you in. You’d be surprised what can happen to a girl when she is in a ball tie * giggle * As for my least favorite, I would have to say it would be a hogtie. My back is not very limber when it comes to bending backwards therefore I can’t struggle much when I am in this position. I am stuck there like a dead log, which in it’s own way can be pretty fun for some but I like to be able to struggle against my bonds. : )

What gags, for example ball-gag, duct tape, o-ring gag, bit-gag, or other is your favorite?

I would have to say ball gags are my favorite but since I have been wearing them for some 5-6 years I’m noticing my jaw doesn’t like them as much as I do. Some things a girl just has to deal with right? * G *

Which binding or rigging material is your favorite to be bound in. I.e., nylon/cotton rope, leather restraints, duct tape, spandex bands, or other?

It really depends on the tie to be honest. Most of the time I prefer nylon/cotton rope because it is the most comfortable. If it is a Japanese set, then I prefer hemp rope even if it is itchy. It looks the best with that style of tie in my opinion. If it is a really tough tie that I am going to need to get out of super quick then I prefer leather straps. I’m not a big fan of duct tape and I haven’t had much experience with spandex.

When you discuss the photo session with the photographer or video director, is every safety concern explored and considered prior to the photo/video session?

When I am working with a model I try and think of every possible safety scenario to avoid having anyone injured. We do talk to the girls before the shoot and explain what will be going on. If she has any concerns we discuss them before she gets tied down. The same goes when I am modeling. As much as we would like to be able to take everything into account though, we are only human and sometimes we forget some of the simplest safety precautions.

Is fetish/bondage is a part of your personal life or only your professional life?

Most things you see on my website (tiedgirls.com) are things I enjoy on a personal level as well. This is a lifestyle for me and my interests are ever growing.

How do you feel when performing a fetish/bondage scene on camera?

To be honest a lot of the time I forget the camera is even there. It also really depends on whom I am working with. I think my husband Jim Weathers has shot some of my sexiest stuff. I think that scenario is somewhat self-explanatory. I, in some ways, get lost in the bondage and absorbed by the situation. To be honest I don’t really “think” a lot when I am tied up.

Do you think a relationship can survive or develop if the model's spouse, life partner, or friend disagrees with that career choice?

I think it makes things extremely difficult. I don’t know many models out there that are in this type of situation. I think if one person in the relationship isn’t willing to accept the others job then there are problems in the relationship in general. I’m not one for close-minded people. My husband is pretty open to things I do even if they are not his kink. An example would be the harsher side of S/m, this is not Jim’s thing, but it is mine. As long as I am safe about it and don’t ask him to be the inflictor, then he is ok with it (for the most part).

Because of the film "Secretary" which explored several b/d and s/m themes. Do you think it's past time that the major film companies develop more fetish theme major films?

I have to say I loved this movie. When we first went to the theatre to watch it, I was a little nervous with the way it started out. I was afraid it was going to be yet another movie giving our lifestyle a bad name. But by the end of the movie, I was extremely impressed (and horny) hehe. I have to say I was thrilled with the way this movie portrayed our lifestyle. It showed the emotions and trust involved with having a BDSM relationship. It showed a two way street. As much control as a Dom has over his/her sub, the sub has given the Dom that control. I did however find it rather amusing seeing this film in the theatre, you could certainly tell lifestyle folks from vanilla folk just by their reactions to some of the things that went on in this film. For those of you who haven’t seen it yet, I HIGHLY recommend it : ) Yes it is about time film companies develop more movies like this one.

What advice would you give future models planning on entering the fetish modeling field?

Be smart and use your common sense. If something doesn’t seem right with you, then make it right. Talk to others about the people that want you to work with them so that you get an idea of what you are getting yourself into. Check references. Investigate before you put yourself into a potentially unsafe (even deadly) scenario. As big as our little community is, it is still pretty small. We all talk about good and bad experiences to help each other in the future, so that we don’t make those same mistakes. If you hear something bad about a producer or model double-check the info.
